Yuriy Sergeyev
Yuriy Sergeyev brings an impressive record of diplomatic service to his role with the World Information Transfer. As Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2007 to 2016, he played a pivotal role in shaping international discourse on security, human rights, and global cooperation. Sergeyev's work at the UN spanned a critical period in Ukraine’s modern history, where he served as the country’s chief voice in the General Assembly and the Security Council during times of significant geopolitical tension.
Prior to his UN appointment, Sergeyev served as Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister and held ambassadorships to France and UNESCO, contributing to Ukraine’s integration into key multilateral frameworks. He also held the position of Director-General of the Ministry’s Department of International Organizations, overseeing Ukraine’s engagement with institutions such as the United Nations and the OSCE. In addition to his diplomatic career, Sergeyev is an accomplished academic, holding a doctorate in political science and serving as a lecturer at Yale University after his retirement from public service. At WIT, he applies this deep international experience to help elevate environmental and public health issues within global diplomatic conversations.
